How can I connect to a game behind a router/firewall?
By default, FlipOut NET uses port 4269 for network game play. Configure your router/firewall to allow port 4269 to passthrough, directed at the machine that is hosting the game.
What if I don't have access to my router/firewall?
Ask your network administrator really nicely. You probably want to leave out the part where you need that port for a game. :) Unless, of course, you can convince your network admin that this is a very cool game, and that he/she should play too.
* New for version 0.3.8:
If all else fails, run your network game on a well known port, like 21 (FTP) or 80 (HTTP). Many firewalls are already configured to let these ports go through.
If I'm host, it seems to take a while to disconnect from a network game. Is this normal?
Yeah, I've noticed that too. I don't know whether that is a VB/DirectPlay 8 problem or whether there is a problem with the game. I will continue to look into it.
The AI keeps kicking my butt. What can I do?
Try the Easy version... wimp...
No, that's what I mean. The Easy version isn't easy enough.
Haha! What, can't deal with having a computer wipe the floor with you?
It's no ordinary computer player, I swear!
Wait a second, what do we have here?
What... hey, stop that!
What, can't deal with the roles reversed?
But... but... this is my Q&A!
Oh really?
Arg! That's it, I'm outta here.
Promise?
Ah! *stomp* *stomp* *stomp* *stomp*
Hehe. Sucker.
